Audobon Zoo-New OrleansLocated in pristine Audubon Park in New Orleans’ Garden District, the Audubon Zoo offers visitors a global safari adventure in such exotic environments as the African Savanna, the Australian Outback, the Asian Domain, and the Louisiana Swamp. Wondrous landscapes help to enhance the up-close encounters with animals from around the world.

Easily the most popular permanent exhibit is Louisiana Swamp Exhibit, where Cypress trees, Spanish moss, white alligators, and other assorted creatures of the swamp are set in a beautifully accurate recreation of a Bayou landscape. The exhibit couples the natural history of the Louisiana swamps with the cultural history, offering spicy Cajun cuisine the opportunity to witness an alligator feeding.

New exhibits include two new white tiger brothers. The youngAudubon Zoo-New Orleans 270-pound tigers can be seen pouncing and prowling around their habitats. The Maya Adventure exhibit showcases the unique animals and culture of Central America including the Jaguar Jungle. The Zoo has also recently acquired two Komodo Dragons.

The Audubon Zoo participates in global efforts to save endangered animals. Rare endangered animals such as Golden Lion Tamarins, Western Lowland Gorillas, Sumatran Orangutans, Cheetahs, Sumatran Tigers, an Asian Elephant, Babirusa, Bali Mynahs, and Asian Hornbills can be seen on your adventure through the Audubon Zoological Gardens.
